Swim Teams and Clubs offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Old Dominion Aquatic Club to offer age-specific training for all of our athletes geared toward challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

  1. STAC's Training Fees are competitive with all area clubs. Multiple-swimmer discounts are made available to those families with more than one child in the program. Fees are based on a twelve-month pay schedule starting in September.

  2. Each family will be charged a $100.00 non-refundable registration fee when registering each year.

  3. An STAC team swimsuit and swim cap (if needed) are the only required equipment to participate in meet. Other apparel and equipment are available, and recommended, depending on the age and commitment level of a given swimmer.

  4. Bingo is the main fund-raising activity of STAC. This activity is the main reason STAC is able to offer the quality program that it does. The obligation for a family with a swimmer that is 9 years of age and older is approximately one night every three to four weeks. This involvement has created the financially stable situation STAC presently enjoys. STAC appreciates the ongoing efforts of its membership and welcomes any interested families to see what STAC all is about.

  5. A $20.00 late fee will be assessed on all accounts not paid by the 20th of the month.

Practice Groups

Super Squad Yellow Group

Fees $75.00 per month

Includes swimmers who can complete a length of both freestyle and backstroke and who are age 5 and above. The group works primarily on learning butterfly and breaststroke, cleaning up major stroke problems on freestyle and backstroke, kicking, starts and turns. The Super Squad Yellow Group is offered 3 practices per week.

 Fins, Water Bottle, Mesh Bag, Jr. Kick Board

Super Squad Blue Group

Fees $110.00 per month

Includes swimmers who are legal in all four competitive strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle). The group works primarily on building solid stroke mechanics, kicking, starts, turns, and familiarizing swimmers with the rules of year-round competitive swimming. The Super Squad Blue Group is offered 5 practices per week.

9-10

Fees $121.00 per month

The main focus of the 9-10 group is to develop solid stroke mechanics, kicking/underwater skills, and formulate solid practice habits and a basic understanding of race strategy. The 9-10 group is offered 6 practices per week.

11-12 / Senior Three

Fees $135.00 per month

The 11-12 Group / Senior Three Group will focus on refining stroke mechanics, developing more precise race strategies, practice with an emphasis on IM and distance-based training, and preparing swimmers for the transition into senior-level swimming. The 11-12 Group / Senior Three Group is offered 6 swim practices and 2 dryland practices per week.

Senior Two

Fees $165.00 per month


The Senior Two Group is the first step into senior-level swimming for most 13-older STAC swimmers. This group offers the opportunity for swimmers to continue to develop solid stroke mechanics, gain an appreciation for consistent training, be part of a positive team environment, and have swimming function within their daily life. There is no minimum attendance requirement for Senior Two Group swimmers.

Senior One

Fees $195.00 per month


Senior One Group swimmers must be at least 14 years old and possess a minimum of 3 Senior Championship Qualifying Times. While there is no attendance requirement for this group, the intent is to have the Senior One Group made up of swimmers who hold swimming as their main outside interest and are willing to create a consistent training pattern to enhance performance opportunities. The main focus is to have swimmers in this group reach the Sectional, Junior National, and National levels.
